EMPTY THE BACKPACK OF LIFE!

I remember as a child during my elementary school years, my back was usually slouched.
My slouched back was as a result of the ever large number of books I had to take to school everyday for the fear of
missing out. Though there was a timetable, I didn't realise its usefulness. Thus, I moved slower, came back from school heavily fatigued and unkempt and miserable.

My parents were the busy type and never bothered to ask why I took so much books to school. Now a grown up, I wonder why I did.

I needed a change of backpack almost every year due to wear and tear. This continued until my adolescent years when I realised the purpose of a time-table. It helped me prioritise, get organized and keep a straight back. I moved faster, had less fatigue and I smiled more. I realised I just simply had to prioritise my needs from my wants. I had emptied my backpack!

The above story is an example of what happens in our individual lives. We all keep a backpack where we keep
our friends, relationships, aspirations, regrets, self-image, failures, regrets, accomplishments etc. These elements either make us or mar us. They make us who we are.

However, we are unhappy and miserable from our vulnerability to lack of organization and priority. We allow impurities and vanity to weigh us down and make our journey slower. It is not a daily increase, but a daily decrease. I learnt to hack away at the inessential.

I learnt carrying everyone of them on life's travel will either give
me a bent back, slow my pace or make me miserable.

I aptly learnt that desires dictate our priorities, priorities shape our choices, and choices determine our actions.
Yes! Friends are wonderful. But you don't need all of them. Yes you don't!

Friends are in categories: those who will add to you; those who will subtract from you; those who will divide you and those who will multiply you. Choose wisely.
Regrets are bitter memories kept alive. Learn to let go. It is a sure way of keeping a straight back. Empty it from your backpack.

Steven Pressfield In his book "The War of Art: Break Through the Blocks & Win Your
Inner Creative Battles" said, "the Principle of Priority states (a) you must know the difference between what is urgent and what is important, and (b) you must do what's important first."

As students, there is the need to have a social life embellished with social activities for a "all-round
education". Everyone needs some fun and shine at some time. However, do not get overwhelmed by its magic.

Victoria Moran, author of "Lit From Within: Tending Your Soul For Lifelong Beauty" said, "Learn to prioritize and use your time well.
A simple life is not seeing how little we can
get by with—that's poverty—but how efficiently we can put first things first. . . .

When you're clear about your purpose
and your priorities, you can painlessly discard whatever does not support these, whether it's clutter in your cabinets or commitments on your calendar." Learn from her.

Our President Has Woken Up. President Jonathan orders total war against Boko Haram

Nigerian President, Goodluck Jonathan has directed the armed forces   to launch a full-scale military operation against Boko Haram and other violent organisations to put an end to their impunity   in the country.
"I am determined to protect our democracy, our national unity and our political stability by waging a total war against terrorism," he said in his nationwide Democracy Day broadcast in Abuja on Thursday.
It was not immediately known what such an offensive could entail given that the North-East where most of the activities of terrorists take place   has been   under   emergency rule and a full-scale military operation for a year now.

But a top Defence Headquarters official told The PUNCH shortly after the broadcast that the Special Forces and other security operatives involved in the prosecution of the anti-terrorism campaign would have a near unlimited space to operate.
The phrase "total war", however, was used by Chad's President Idriss Deby following a meeting of Nigeria's neighbours in Paris in mid-May, in which they sought a common strategy to fight the militants.
"I assure you … that these thugs will be driven away. It will not happen overnight, but we will spare no effort to achieve this goal," Jonathan said.
The President explained that the full-scale operation against the terrorists had become imperative because they had unleashed war on Nigeria.
But he   still did not rule out "dialogue, reconciliation" with the insurgents if they renounced terrorism and embraced peace.
Jonathan said that Nigeria's unity, stability and the protection of lives and property were non-negotiable.

He restated the determination of his administration to protect the nation's democracy, national unity and political stability.
The President said the activities of terror groups in the country had caused debilitating pains and horror for the nation particularly the abduction of schoolgirls in Chibok, Borno, on April 14.
"It is now 45 days since the horrifying abduction of the college girls of Chibok. I share the deep pain and anxiety of their parents and guardians.
"I assure them once again that government will continue to do everything possible to bring our daughters home.
"I am determined to protect our democracy, our national unity and our political stability, by waging a total war against terrorism. The unity and stability of our country, and the protection of lives and property are non-negotiable. I have instructed our security forces to launch a full-scale operation to put an end to the impunity of terrorists on our soil.
"I have also authorised the security forces to use any means necessary under the law to ensure that this is done.
"I assure you that Nigeria will be safe again, and that these thugs will be driven away.
"It will not happen overnight, but we will spare no effort to achieve this goal."
Jonathan   lamented that terrorists were   threatening to rubbish all the gains of the past 15 years of democratic governance in the country.
He also maintained that   foreign elements were collaborating with some misguided Nigerians to bring down the country as well as its democracy and freedom.
Jonathan said the abduction of the schoolgirls showed the heartless nature of terrorists who he said wanted to instigate a descent into anarchy and balkanise the nation.
He   said,
"It is a sad fact that as I address you today(Thursday), all the gains of the past 15 years of democratic governance in our country are threatened by the presence of international terrorism on our shores.
"Our dear country, Nigeria is facing a new challenge. A war has been unleashed on us. Extremist foreign elements, collaborating with some of our misguided citizens, are focused on an attempt to bring down our country and the democracy and freedom we cherish and celebrate today.
"The despicable abduction of schoolgirls from Chibok in Borno State has brought to the awareness of the entire world, the heartless nature of these terrorists who want to instigate a descent into anarchy and balkanise our nation.
"In recent years, terrorist attacks have claimed the lives of several of our compatriots, many have been injured or maimed, whole villages and communities have been destroyed and the economy of some of our states is in jeopardy.
"There can be no doubt that what we are witnessing in Nigeria today is a manifestation of the same warped and ferocious world view that brought down the Twin Towers in New York, killed innocent persons in Boston and led to the murder of defenceless people in the Southern Russian city of Volgograd.
"Terrorist activities have brought war and pains to Mali, Somalia, Yemen, Syria, Afghanistan and Pakistan. These agents of evil continue to brainwash and incite ignorant young men and women to attack the innocent. We cannot allow this to continue."
Jonathan said he welcomed the statements of solidarity from patriotic citizens and the global community in support of his government's efforts to stamp out terrorism.
He also applauded the understanding that in a democracy, people could have differences while sharing worthy values and standing together in opposition to terrorism.
The President said since Nigeria was the only country Nigerians had, they must all work to preserve it for present and future generations.
He commended the nation's security agencies and urged Nigerians not to forget their gallantry and successes in liberating nations like Liberia, Sierra Leone, Congo, Sudan, Mali and Guinea-Bissau.
Jonathan added,
"We must show confidence in their ability. I have no doubt that, with the support of Nigerians, our neighbours and the international community, we will reinforce our defence, free our girls and rid Nigeria of terrorists.
"For our citizens who have joined hands with al-Qaeda and international terrorists in the misguided belief that violence can possibly solve their problems, our doors remain open to them for dialogue and reconciliation, if they renounce terrorism and embrace peace.

"My government, while pursuing security measures, will explore all options, including readiness to accept unconditional renunciation of violence by insurgents, and to ensure their de-radicalisation, rehabilitation and re-integration into the broader society."
The President said Nigerians must work with the security agencies   to overcome the terrorists.
While admitting that the war against terror may be difficult, he assured Nigerians that the days of peace would come again.
He said terror was evil and nowhere in history had evil endured forever.

"The menace of Boko Haram will surely come to an end. I believe that because of your prayers, your courage, hard work, faith and sacrifice, we will ultimately prevail over the terrorists and all other evil forces.
"We are a strong, resilient and courageous people. We will continue to partner   the civilised world to confront international terrorism and every other challenge that comes our way with patriotic zeal and determination.
"Yes, we have challenges but we will surely overcome. Nigeria is our country. Nigeria is blessed. We will all collectively protect, defend and develop this country for ourselves, and our children,"Jonathan said.
Despite the security challenges Jonathan said Nigeria had come a long way and made notable progress since its first Democracy Day on May 29, 1999.
He said although he had ordered a low-key commemoration of this year's Democracy Day in deference to the current mood of the nation, there was no doubt that the past 15 years had been a blessing to Nigerians.
The PUNCH   learnt from a top official of the DHQ in Abuja that   the military was expected to be more frontal in the fight against the insurgents.
The official, who pleaded not to be named, said that troops and their commanders would no longer bother about diplomacy and other factors which inhibited the operations in some ways.
It was further stated that the statement was expected to be followed with troops and equipment deployment.

Our source said, "The President has created a division in that area; he has created more brigades and we now   have more battalions on the ground.
"With his statement, the war is expected to gather momentum; there would be no more diplomacy; it is expected to be more frontal. I think 'frontal' is the word to watch out for now.
"Also, there would be deployment of troops and equipment."
When contacted, the Director of Defence Information, Maj. Gen. Chris Olukolade, said,
"Watch out for subsequent development, thank you."
Jonathan declares amnesty for Boko Haram members
At another   event organised to   mark the   Democracy Day for youths, the Minister of Youth Development, Mr. Boni Haruna, announced that   Jonathan   had offered amnesty for Boko Haram members ready to lay down their arms and embrace peace.
Haruna, who gave an   overview of youths' position in the present administration's transformation agenda at an event attended by Jonathan   and Vice-President Namadi Sambo, said the offer was part of   youths-friendly programmes and policies of the government.

The event   was almost marred by power failure that happened when the President mounted the podium to present a compendium of his administration's achievements in the last one year and answer questions from youths.
Haruna said, "President Jonathan has also declared amnesty for members of the Boko Haram sect. A series of integration programmes have been lined up for members of the sect who would surrender their arms and embrace peace."
He therefore called on the sect members to embrace the government's gesture by keying into the amnesty programme.

The minister recalled that in the wake of youth restiveness in the Niger Delta, the government came up with a development programme which provided an opportunity for the youth to express themselves and have a meaningful life.
Haruna said although the amnesty programme was a fallout of a bitter national security challenge , its effect on the youth had been profound.
He disclosed that 30,000 youths that   benefitted from the programme   transformed from militants to wealth creators, employers of labour and skilled citizens.
Jonathan while answering questions from youths who attended the programme tagged   "A day with young leaders of Nigeria,"   said the military alone was incapable of stopping terrorism or any kind of radicalism alone .
Pointing out that terrorism could not succeed in any community without local support, Jonathan stressed the need for people   respected by   insurgents to join hands with the government to persuade them to desist from violence.
He said,
"Terror succeeds with local support. It will be difficult for terror to thrive where people reject it. It is a major challenge to all of us.
"Military alone cannot stop terror or any radicalism. Terrorists have people they respect, they have community, traditional and opinion leaders they respect. All of us can deradicalise them.
"We will through persuasive activities encourage people to shun violence."

Actress, Angelina Jolie takes plight of Chibok girls to red carpet

Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie, in London to promote her new film "Maleficent," used the red carpet event on Thursday to renew her plea for the safe return of more than 200 Nigerian school girls kidnapped by Islamist rebels.

The 38-year-old actress, who serves as a United Nations special envoy for refugees, said it was "heart-warming" to hear reporters' questions and people's concern for the abducted girls at a movie event.

"The important thing though is to understand that this happens because these men think they can get away with this and they can do this," Jolie told reporters.

"We have to start arresting people for this, we have to start bringing them to justice and we have to start making it an absolute crime that puts fear in these men so that they think twice about this kind of action."

People around the world have been showing their support by taking part in protests and joining online campaigns calling for the rescue of the girls taken from a secondary school by extremist group Boko Haram on April 14.

U.S. first lady Michelle Obama and Pakistani schoolgirl and human rights activist Malala Yousafzai are among those backing an online campaign and have posted photos of themselves holding a sign reading "#BringBackOurGirls."

Jolie also said she was increasingly concerned about for people in Ukraine, where pro-Moscow separatists have ignored a public call by Russian President Vladimir Putin to postpone a referendum on self-rule in eastern Ukraine, declaring they would go ahead on Sunday with a vote that could lead to war.

"I can't imagine anybody from that region isn't just terrified that the worst is yet to come," she said.

WHAT NEXT AFTER RECOVERY?

We make the following demands of the Federal Government whose duty it was to protect the innocent girls.

1. A N50million damage as trauma compensation to each girl.

2. A preparation to take each girl to an overseas University on Government scholarship by September 2014. Preparation for that must start now!

3. SS1 and SS2 girls in that school must be transferred to schools of their choice from Government coffer. How can any girl feel safe in this kind of school? Living in perpetual fear of attack?

LET GOD ARISE, LET ALL HIS ENEMIES BE SCATTERED.

Boko Haram attacks LG boss in Borno, kills son

Suspected Boko Haram insurgents have attacked
a local government chairman in Borno, killing his
son. Sources said the attackers numbering about
five, invaded the residence of the Caretaker
Chairman of Shani Local Government in the state,
Alhaji Madu Walama, in Walama village and
opened fire on his son when they discovered that
their target was not at home.
"When the gunmen invaded the house, they
asked for the whereabouts of the chairman, and
when they discovered that the man was not
around, they opened fire on one of his sons and
escaped. The boy, Shettima Walama, who was
about 20 year sold, did not die immediately. He
was rushed to the hospital and died shortly on
arrival," a resident who did not want his name in
print told journalists.
Another source also said the insurgents while
fleeing the area shot dead a man driving along
the Biu-Shani- Numan road. Shani is along the
Borno-Adamawa border in the southern part of
Borno State and is about 240 kilometres from
Maiduguri, the state capital.
Meanwhile, students in Borno State yesterday
resolved to boycott classrooms and other
academic activities tomorrow to protest the
abduction of over 200 schoolgirls in Chibok.
The placard-carrying students called on the
authorities to do everything possible to rescue the
girls.
Leader of the protesting students, Fatima Zanna
Maliki, said the youths needed action not words
and blames, adding that this was not the time for
apportioning blames on anybody.

More Nigerian girls abducted by suspected Boko Haram militants

The latest kidnapping happened on Sunday night in the village of Warabe, in Borno state. The girls taken were between the ages of 12 and 15.

On Monday, Boko Haram's leader threatened to "sell" more than 230 girls seized from their school, also in Borno, on 14 April.

The Islamist insurgency by Boko Haram has left thousands dead since 2009.

The BBC's Mansur Liman in Abuja says the area around Warabe, the site of the latest abductions, is a stronghold of the Islamist movement.

The gunmen arrived in two trucks and also seized animals and food from the village.

Communications are very poor in the area, which explains why the news took several days to emerge, our correspondent says.

Residents from a nearby town told AFP that they feared Boko Haram would target them next.

"We in Gwoza are also living in fear because of the kidnap of eight girls in Warabe," Peter Gambo said.

"We have no security here. If the gunmen decide to pick our own girls, nobody can stop them" he said.

Warabe is also close to the Sambisa forest, where the first group of schoolgirls is thought to have been taken.

Protesters have taken to the streets in Nigeria, calling for the girls taken on 14 April to be released
Boko Haram leader Abubakar Shekau released a video on Monday confirming that his group had abducted them.

There is mounting domestic and international anger at the Nigerian government's failure to find the girls.

Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni condemned the attacks, calling Boko Haram "ideologically bankrupt".

"It would be a mistake for the government of Nigeria to negotiate with these people. The most important thing is to defeat them, then negotiations can come after that," he said.

The US called the kidnappings an "outrage" and said it was offering the Nigerian government assistance in trying to find the girls.

Boko Haram, which means "Western education is forbidden", has attacked numerous educational institutions in northern Nigeria.

Another Nollywood Actress Says On Nudity; My Body Is My Laptop!

Sylvia Oluchi, Nollywood's fast-rising actress and winner of Best Rising Star at the June 2012 Nollywood Movies Awards for her role in Bent Arrows seems to have no holds barred when it comes to using her body.
In an interview with BestofNollywood recently, she was asked if there's a limit to what she can do on set as regards nudity in movies and she said:

''I don't have any boundaries because my body is my laptop. Others have their laptops and files, what I have is my body and voice, Even the concept of nudity, I don't have any problems what so ever, but it has to make sense, if it enriches the story and is done tastefully, I mean sometimes you can see nudity been done for a good reason, like in the west, they could take off their clothes to protest. Like I said, I don't have problem with nudity, I just want it to make sense''.

Ladies, Be Warned! Lagos Bans Mini Skirts!

According to Vanguard news….

This was contained in a circular issued by the State Head of Service, Mrs. Josephine Williams to entire Ministries, Departments and Agencies, MDAs, dated February 7, 2014.
Vanguard gathered that the decision was taken as a result of worsening cases of indecent dressing among the state government female public servants.
The circular however urged all Directors of Finance and Administration, DFAs, to immediately move against indecent dressing .
The circular, with the reference number CIR/HOS/14/Vol.1/022, said similar directive was issued through the HOS in 2005 in a circular number 113 mandating public servants to dress properly and decently to the office and official functions portray the good image of the state government.
The government in the circular warned that it would begin to take drastic and punitive measures against recalcitrant public servants who flout the directive.
The circular added "It has however been observed with grave concern that some officers have not been complying with this directive. The noticeable non-compliance of some officers to this directive should henceforth stop as the extant civil service rules and regulations on proper and indecent dressing still subsist and will be applied accordingly on flouters".
The HOS listed what is contained in the new dress code for female workers and that skirts that are above the knee should not be worn by public servants.
Williams explained that if female public servants must wear trousers, such trousers should neither be tight nor revealing any sensitive part of their body and must be worn with a jacket.
She also said that gowns to be worn by female public servants must be of knee level, moderate slit, not sleeveless and not body clinging, adding that if native attires must be worn, they must be worn completely.
The government also reeled out dress code for male public civil servants, administrative officers must wear suit and tie as professionals.
The junior and clerical staff they said should wear shirts and trousers and French suit while complete native wear is allowed for all cadres of public servants.
Williams affirmed that,"As a matter of necessity, all Directors of Finance and Administration are hereby enjoined to ensure that officers within their purview adhere strictly to moderate and decent dressing.

I Launched Dbanj's Career, Not Don Jazzy! OJB Jezreel Blurts!

OJB Jezreel has continued to launch his series of attacks on Nigerian music star, Dapo Oyebanjo, better known as D’Banj, even though the Sagamu, Ogun State-born former MoHits star has not been tempted to give him a response.
Recall that during the ‘Save OJB Jezreel’ campaign championed by Nomoreloss, which was aimed at raising fund for OJB’s kidney treatment in India, there were reports that D’Banj donated an amount of money for the cause.
But the music producer later came out to categorically state that D’Banj never gave him a dime for his treatment as widely reported. OJB then went further to stress that what pained him the most was the fact that D’Banj used his (OJB Jezreel) ordeal to make publicity stunts for his own (D’Banj) music career.
He then further said that instead of D’Banj to come out to deny the reports of him donating for the cause, he chose to remain silent.
Speaking on Sunday with our correspondent during a thanksgiving service in Lagos to celebrate his successful kidney treatment, the beat maker of 2Face’s ‘African Queen’ hit single lamented further that he, not Don Jazzy, made D’Banj as generally believed.
In his words, “quote me, we launched D’Banj’s music career and not Don Jazzy. D’Banj is my boy. He was always in my studio. Ask him when you see him and he won’t deny this. I knew about how he went to JJC in London. I also launched JJC. I don’t see the need to continue to celebrate him because he didn’t do anything to help me when the chips were down.”

YVONNE NELSON DEBUNKS BLEACHING SKIN

Ghanaian actress Yvonne Nelson has been forced to respond to rumors that she has been bleaching her skin. The rumors, fueled by her ever lightening skin complexion has been airing for nearly a year but the mention of her name by a US website, Atlanta Blackstar as one of 15 black celebrities believed to be whitening their skin, moved Miss Nelson to give a response. In a statement released this morning, the Ghanaian actress is alleged to have claimed that though her skin complexion has lightened over the years, it has absolutely nothing to do with skin bleaching.

She said: “My present skin tone is as a result of the constant use of the famous Queen Elizabeth Cocoa Butter. About 3 years ago, I was fortunate enough to secure a deal to be the "Face of Queen Elizabeth Cocoa Butter" and as part of the contract, I was given a lifetime supply of the body cream. I have therefore been using this cream exclusively for 3 years, so what you see now is the result of the goodness of Queen Elizabeth. It has simply enhanced my natural complexion rather than bleach it.”

Queen Elizabeth Cocoa Butter, which is the official moisturiser of the British monarch, after whom the product is named is rich in akomfem oil which is believed to have given Miss Yvonne Nelson this caramel skin colour. It also contains vitamins A, E and F which are essential for nourishment and moisturising without leaving the skin greasy.

Apostle Safo, a brand ambassador of Queen Elizabeth Cocoa Butter has also jumped to Miss Nelson’s defence saying, “my caramel skin complexion like that of Yvonne, is as a result of the use of Queen Elizabeth, it has absolutely nothing to do with bleaching. Hopefully people will believe us and allow this matter to be laid to rest.

See Woman Who Is Addicted to Drinking Paint!

This 43-year-old woman has revealed her secret compulsion to drink paint on the season premiere of TLC's My Strange Addiction. Heather Beal, a mother of two, admits that she has guzzled close to three gallons since she first started the practice 3 years ago. Her bizarre habit began after her mother died, though no one has seen her drink paint - especially not her children. 'As it's going down your throat, it feels very nice and warm, almost like a thicker version of warm milk,' she says. 'But obviously, it's got that very strong chemical taste, which is perfect to me.' Ms Beal says that she prefers paint in marker form, and goes to the hardware store to feed her habit. Every day she pries the cap off one paint marker and drinks the contents. 'I drink paint from markers because I have looked for other paint both in quart or gallon form, and I haven't found one that satisfies my desire,' she explains. Ms Beal however got a wake-up call after she learnt from a doctor that she has done damage to her kidneys. When asked what she would feel like if one of her kids drank paint, she vowed to kick the habit - and in a recent interview with TLC insisted that she has stayed clean.

Behold The New Internet-Connected Toothbrush!

Technology has evolved again and now it's the time for smart toothbrushes.
According to the innovators, "The idea is not to brush stronger, but smarter."

The Kolibree toothbrush includes a sensor which detects how much tartar is being removed in a brushing. It also records brushing activity so users can maintain a consistent cleaning each time.
The device conveys the information wirelessly to a smartphone app -- a particularly useful aid for parents who want to monitor the teeth cleaning efforts of small children, according to Cessot.

"When you use a normal toothbrush you never really know what you've cleaned. It might be 30 percent. The only person who really knows is the dentist."
But the app can tell users if they have missed hard-to-clean areas or are not getting a thorough brushing.

The app, which is open for developers to add on other programs, aims to increase motivation and make the experience more fun, said Cessot.

Day I Slept Under The Bridge! Ramsey Noah Tells Rag To Riches Story.

The new year has seen alot of celebrities sharing their "Rag to Riches" stories. Nollywood big boy and ladies man, Ramsey Noah also shares his in this interview.

Without doubt, Famous Nollywood star and multi award-winning actor, Ramsey Nouah, is a household name in Nigeria and beyond due to his on screen charms and good looks.
The actor who has many movies to his credit, rose to fame in the 90s with the popular TV series, Fortunes.

What is your most embarrassing moment?
I can’t actually pencil down any, but I have quite a few. I have had a woman stone me with pure water sachet because she felt that I was mean to some girls in a movie. A woman was sucking an orange and she threw it at me because she didn’t like my behaviour in the movies.
Would you say that was the craziest thing a fan has done to you?
I wouldn’t say that, I don’t want to go explicit. (Laughing)

How do you handle your female fans?
It is just being nice and diplomatic. You can’t be nasty to them, you can’t be mean to them; they are only doing what they are supposed to do because they are showing love.
Do you have any project you are working on right now?
Yes, I just did a fantastic movie with AY. It is like a comedy, totally different from the lover boy thing, but I still have a little of lover boy stuff in it anyway. It is a whole lot of comedy and shot in the United States. We are going to complete the rest in Nigeria. That’s the work I have pending and there are a few to come.

OPEN LETTER: Joseph Benjamin Says The Time For Awoof Is Over! Says no friendship calls as far as business is concerned.

Joseph Benjamin also has this to say. No free things for Lagos rule applies everywhere sha!
Read on:

Happy New Year folks, glad we all had a seamless crossover into the new year. It is new year, things take a turn for the better. Change is constant. We should all desire to grow and achieve as much as God desires for us. Please permit me to share this general announcement:
Please don’t ask me to do things pro bono for you, or your organization/magazine/newspaper/etc, unless you fancy being let down, personally.
I have serious bills to pay, just like the rest of y’all, so if you want to hire my services, we can talk, but otherwise, don’t even think about approaching me – the time for me to pump up my resume with the fleeting thrill of being a good samaritan is over unless you pay for it. I repeat over!
And nope- no friendship calls as far as business is concerned. Thanks, I have to draw the margin somewhere, and since this last yearly quarter seems to be the one where I’ve been asked the most for free expertise, let me reiterate once and for all: nothing in the world is free, my expertise being the least amongst them.

"Winnie Mandela Terrified Me"

Wife of Late Nelson Mandela, Winnie has been known for her different faces in dealing with situations and people.  Now 77, Winnie Mandela is simultaneously an adored icon and a loathed figurehead, an initially apolitical innocent who became a defiant demagogue, crying for bloody revenge.

Movie star, Naomi Harris recently said “They said the Mandela movie’s been green lit, you’re going to be Winnie and we start filming two days after you finish Bond,” she recalls. “I said…” Harris’s voice squeaks in shock… “‘Really?’” The surprise was the film Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom, in which Harris co-stars alongside Idris Elba, was actually going into production. It had been 16 years in “development”, with various directors and actors attached at different points.

Awolowo Was Greater Than Mandela! Social Critic Says!

In an interview with Sahara TV, the writer, poet & social critique said late premier of the old Western region, Chief Obafemi Awolowo, was a greater man than South African anti-apartheid revolutionary, Dr. Nelson Mandela.

I am too much of an Awolowo man not to see that the process of moving into independence in South Africa and in Nigeria followed exactly the same pattern. It was based on a negotiated settlement. The liberation struggle did not create the end of apartheid. It was a negotiation and Nigerians negotiated exactly the way Mandela negotiated.
“You can hype it if you like, but the pattern was exactly the same. You move from one meeting to the other, discussing politics and economics, and they successfully convinced Mandela to buy the pig in a poke of an economy and they also successfully succeeded in convincing Nigerians to buy the pig in a poke of an economy.
“The only man in Nigeria, who stood up against it, was (Obafemi) Awolowo. He was quickly jailed and all his men scattered across the prisons in Nigeria. Some driven abroad and the educational system that he had put in place was smashed.” Ofeimun said
"People talk about Mandela’s capacity to put various classes (of people) together as theory, but Awolowo ironed it out very clearly, why you don’t need a class struggle, in order to create a society in which all children can go to school; in which everybody can get a job, and in which old age pensions will be paid to people.
“It is not just love and I want to emphasise that. Those who criticise Awolowo’s socialism for wanting in love are obviously basing their argument on his claim that a government should be like a sun that shines on all equally. If it is about a theory of how to bring the people together on the African continent, none is as good as the Awolowo’s and I’m not trying to pretend.
“Bring all their writings, fine phrases, alright, but reduce them to economic terms, and I can tell you that there is only one man who rivals Awolowo in this respect and that is Nkrumah. Unfortunately unlike Awolowo, Nkrumah did not believe in either a democratic or a federal theory. If you want to save Africa, you need those two.”
Ofeimun said he chose Awolowo over Mandela because..
"The simple reason is that what needed to be done in South Africa, after apartheid was precisely what Awolowo wanted for Western Region and Nigeria after independence. Which is to say put every child at school, ensure that productivity takes the creativity of the individual citizen into proper focus and build the relationship between people and not on whether they did not love each other? But whether there is justice and equality.”

A MUST READ! Pastor T.B Joshua Reveals Shocking 2014 Prophecies!

Here is what Prophet T.B Joshua has to say on 2014. Read on.

“This New Year 2014 is not like any other year in the past. It is a year of crossing bridge. To cross the bridge, you need to grab onto faith,” he began.

“This is not going to be easy for the mighty. Many of the mighty will fall. Pray for them. The rich, famous and popular people – many will fall this 2014 because crossing the bridge is not going to be easy; they need God. Many of them believe it is their own making to be great in their own area of expertise.”

“Many people that are not known will be rise by destiny,”
